Susannah Wesley, mother of Methodism’s founders, John and Charles Wesley, was a pastor’s wife and a mother to 19 children! She was able to care for, feed and raise her family from a cupboard of a very small size. Christ Church has a modest food pantry and the supplies are free to needy persons and families. This is a faith-ministry … as we give the food away to needy families, we trust God to supply yet more! You can help by donating food. People come to Christ Church seeking immediate food help each week. We found that we can best help them by providing canned and dry foods that can easily be stored and kept in Susannah’s Pantry – all items are provided by the generosity of our members & friends. It is amazing to see how God touches people to fill the pantry and amazing to see how many this little cupboard helps!
Susannah’s Pantry is located at the Church, on the corner of Second and Church Streets. Directions to the Church
Our pantry is still OPEN – we are bagging groceries and handing the bags out at the door.
Open: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 10 AM – 3 PM
Using Susannah’s Pantry:
Our Food Pantry is open to all Waynesboro area residents who are in need of food. Anyone who wishes may come to the pantry and receive two grocery bags with the food, one visit per household per month. Pictured (below) is a sample of what we are currently handing out.
Open: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 10 AM – 3 PM. You may contact the church office at 717-762-7042 before coming to make sure that there is someone in the office to assist you.
We are currently only handing out specific items since we are bagging items and handing them out at the door.
Pictured (above) is a sample of what we are currently handing out to each family. We are handing out simple, non-perishable (no refrigeration required) items: Macaroni and cheese, spaghetti noodles and sauce, Canned ham/chicken/tuna, peanut butter and jelly, noodle soup, crackers, Canned Beef Stew (or similar), Canned Fruits/applesauce, Granola Bars, Cereal, and Pasta or Rice Sides (or similar side dish). Thank you for your donations and support!
PLEASE do not donate out of date, rusty, badly dented or opened products. They cannot be distributed. If a food product is not appropriate to serve to your family, it is not appropriate to serve to a needy family. Our focus is non-perishable food items and personal products. We do not have the capacity to store and distribute other items.
Thanks you for all of your donations to Susannah’s Pantry! With your help, dozens of people have received much needed food. Thank you for helping to feed others in the love of Christ!
